Product Description

Product Description
Galvanized All-Thread Rod Stiffener for Seismic Bracing (Carbon/Stainless Steel)

Hanger Rod Stiffener

*Secure strut channel to vertical hangers with rod stiffeners to prevent buckling during a seismic event.

Function :
Rod Stiffener is seismic rod bracing clamps used as additional support for bracing threaded rods used to suspend piping, ducts, conduit and various other suspended equipment. Seismic forces act in all directions.

Rod stiffener FTRC M12 gives for attaching strut channel to a threaded rod to accommodate compression loads.
* The pronounced interlocking of the rod stiffeners gives a secure hold in the channel profile and holds the threaded rod in the desired position.
* The exact fit of the rod stiffeners enables quick and easy assembly.
* The assembly enables subsequent insertion in already installed channel profiles by 90° rotation.
* Rod stiffener FTRC M12 is used to brace suspended constructions by bracing threaded rods M10 or M12 in channel profiles. The pronounced interlocking holds the rod stiffener in the desired position and ensures a secure hold in the channel.
* The exact fit enables quick and easy channel assembly.
* It is possible to insert the rod stiffeners in the already existing constructions at any time via assembly by 90° rotation

We offer three types of Rod Stiffeners, Snap-Brace, SRBC, and RSC. The SRBC and the RSC Series are seismic rods bracing clamps used as additional support for bracing threaded rods used to suspend piping, ducts, conduit, and various other suspended equipment. The Snap-Brace is a unique rod stiffener in that no tools are required to install it. The Snap-Brace uses a standard 1-5/8" strut channel to stiffen the hanger rod against buckling. As its name implies, you just "Snap" it into the strut and it becomes a "Brace" for your hanger rod.

Seismic forces act in all directions. Threaded rods are sized purely for gravity loads, making it necessary to add additional rod bracing to prevent buckling of the rods. Uplift forces can easily exceed the dead load on the rod - resulting in compressive forces. If not braced, the rod can buckle and fail. With the addition of the VMC SRBC or RSC Series bracing clamps, angle steel or bracing can be quickly and easily added to the rod.
